SN Series
Slurry submersible pumps are designed for pumping liquid containing solids and abrasive particles. Slurry pump changes in design and construction to adjust to multiple type of slurry which varies in concentration of solids, size of solid particles, shape of solid particles, and composition of solution. Dynamically balanced Hi-Chrome impellers are used for reliable operation which is basically white iron with 25% chromium added to make it less brittle. Slurry pumps are widely used in transport of abrasive solids in industries such as mining, dredging, power and steel.

Working of slurry pumps

An impeller in a slurry pump imparts a circular motion by allowing slurry to enter the impeller’s eye. Centrifugal force forces the slurry outward and between the blades of the impeller. By the time the slurry reaches the impeller’s edge, it has reached a high speed. Pumps increase the pressure of liquids and solids with centrifugal force, converting electric energy into kinetic energy to pump the slurry.
